H.E. Shizo Abe, Acting Secretary General, Liberal Democratic Party and Member of the House of Representatives, visited India in March – 2005 prior to the visit of H.E. Junichiro Koizumi, Prime Minister of Japan. The visit was intended to deliver Mr. Koizumi’s Letter to Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Mr. Abe also met the Civil Aviation Minister Mr. Praful Patel over breakfast & discussed about enhancing people to people interaction between India and Japan. Mr. Abe and Mr. Patel both agreed to the suggestion of more direct flights between India and Japan leading to open sky policy in future. His friend Mr Vibhav Kant Upadhyay , Chairperson, India Center arranged a Traditional Japanese Tea-Ceremony with cultural programmes and meeting with dignitaries in his honour on this historic visit.
